About the project
Tobacco and liquor shop interior in Sofia – a small floor area, a large range
A neighbourhood shop has to show a lot of stock in very little space without feeling cluttered. In this design for a tobacco, liquor and coffee shop in Sofia, the interior organises hundreds of products into a clear system – wine, beer, tobacco, sweets and coffee to go – and creates a warm, recognisable atmosphere that draws customers in.
01Walls that work as displays
Each wall has its own role and product group, so customers find their way at a glance:
- Timber wall for wine and spiritsFloor-to-ceiling modular shelving in light timber with indirect LED lighting keeps every bottle visible and neatly arranged, like a wine shop.
- Fridges for beer and drinksA row of glass-door fridges with illuminated signs above them forms the chilled zone of the shop.
- Tobacco wallBehind the counter a dedicated system for cigarettes and tobacco is reachable only by staff – tidy and quick to serve from.
02Counter, till and coffee bar
The compact counter at the heart of the shop combines several functions:
- Till and fast serviceThe counter is placed so the shop assistant can see the whole shop and easily reach all the shelving behind it.
- Coffee to goA professional espresso machine, cups and grinder turn part of the worktop into a small coffee bar – an extra service that brings customers in every morning.
- Impulse purchasesLow stands for chewing gum, sweets and snacks next to the till make use of every spare spot.
03Light and atmosphere
The lighting is designed both to sell and to set the mood:
- Track lightingBlack linear fittings on the ceiling light the shelves and aisles evenly.
- Coloured LED accentsA soft pink-violet glow around the ceiling and shelving gives the shop a modern, memorable look.
- Digital screenA screen above the counter shows promotions and new products.
